The full moon closest to the autumnal equinox is called the
Harvest Moon. In the Northern Hemisphere, the Harvest Moon’s strong light enabled
farmers to gather their crops well past sunset. On a metaphysical level, the
September moon urges us to reflect upon what we have sown over the growing
season. What have we reaped? As the moon moves into Aries, passions and
impatience flare. But on the 21st, the moon enters Taurus with its
grounding energies. The 22nd brings the autumnal equinox, a good
time to focus upon personal, political, and environmental harmony and balance.
